The Vacation So Far..

EDIT! I realized tt i missed out on a day.. my memory is suckin!

super long blog post.. shall finally update my blog with what i've been up to post ortho.. :)

well, basically i've been going out everyday, which is way too much, except for today, which is why i'm free to blog. arrgh, stupid patho. anw..

Fri: post ortho mcq day, which was great cuz the test was surprisingly easy.. well, so we (ian, aud, ken, emily, zm, claire, zp and some other pple i can't remember now) had a nice lunch at soup restaurant. mmm, the food there is nice, too bad we didn't get to eat the fatty pork belly. haha.

after tt, we went to ktv - sth tt i seem to have been doing a lot these days. haha. well, no photos of the ktv session, but yeah, we sang for a solid 4 hours, and it was 5 of us only.. so yeah, we killed our voice :p kenrick sang this really funny song - super dancing queen by aya. omg, the ahahahaha just killed me. the parking tt day was $21! gave em and her mum a lift back to em's car at claire's place.. haha, she was so nice to chip in a lil! and she was quite funny, saying tt she should raise the price of the clinic cuz its silly tt seeing a doc costs as much as parking now!

after tt, on a cold cold day, we decided to go have steamboat! and since the marina south ones are scheduled for re-development and will be closed in Jan, we decided to head down there to eat for a last time. haha

the food was not so nice, but heh, the company was great and funny.. haha. after tt, we went down to pier 11, which looks pretty good at nite!


apparently, this is where u take ferries to kusu island now.. tired looking us after a really long day :p

so then sat was spent going out looking at furniture and finally being able to play my xobx 360 for extended periods of time.. haha after furniture looking, had dinner with my family at raku in millenia walk. the decor of the place is really interesting, i was quite able to capture it on camera.. but well, u are seated in isolated like rooms, and there are these panels tt are able to slide around, but there are fenestrations however, so they are only semi-isolating. but whatever. haha

the food was great, though rather ex. i dunno what u call this, but my sister ordered it, and its just basically soup in a tea pot.

fugu.. the texture is excellent! so chewy.. mmm, the slices are so thin tt they are translucent! but then after a while, u realise tt they are rather tasteless and not worth the money ;)

my beef set.. i dun ever remember what its called, yet i always order it.. sukiyaki is it?

saturday was more tennis. such slack and fun days.

sunday was a bday lunch for xt! it was at kam boat, and parking was hell. 12th storey at shaw center cuz there was just no space.. :o

then, after lunch which was pretty yummy, we headed down to mariott hotel! well, we were there to try to decide where our next destination was cuz there was aircon.. but in the end, more photos. haha

after all tt, they headed over to my place for some taboo and cards. evange is just so deceptive at bluff and speed. tsktsk, so drama! not easy to read her.. bad girl! haha. and xt is sooo funny and blur. she was playing taboo, but thought out loud - so loud tt she actually read out the word in the card and got buzzed. hmmm. lol

this was monday! we went to amk for the original crab beehoon. it was a rainy day, perfect for eating the warm crab noodles! ah ha!

after our feast at amk, we headed down to serangoon gardens for dessert at Ice3! we were rather full so we shared desserts.. and ty and aud decided they should not eat so much so abstained. :p

after tt, we proceeded to engage in our fav activity - more ktv. but this time at cheap teo heng! love the place, it is just so affordable! haha

after ktv, we turned to our next fav activity - eating. and went to hk cafe for supper


so tt concludes a really eventful monday. on tues, i went for ra's welcome back dinner and a sorta surprise bday thingie for gary, which stupid al sorta spoilt.. :rolleyes: well u see, al randomly asks gary how to get to parkway for the weirdest of reasons, when the dinner was a katong village. like.. what? and then at the carpark, i saw him, walking in, and so i pulled gary back to the car saying tt i forgot sth, and al stupidly follows and says hi. like wth??! but whatever. even though it wasn't a surprise, it was still a good dinner with nice food and company. and post dinner, there was ice cream chef! mmm, peanut butter ice cream with mars bars mashed in. sinful but sooo good.

wed was spent at the patho lab staring at hundreds of pots staring back and me, and realizing i'm screwed.

thursday was interesting. played tennis with yuan, in a slight drizzle, and when we decided to stop, it stopped raining. well, i also witnessed his prowess with guitar heroes, hitting streaks of 599 notes, which meant it was a perfect song! and unlocking the gold star achievement for me on the xbox 360. aha! and well, it was just amazing anw.

had dinner with my family at pure white and red at vivo. the food was quite cheap, and quite good! my soup came with black wheat bread. really interesting.

apple cinammon tart with ginger icecream! it was a surprising light dessert, so it doesn't make u feel like slping after having it :p

friday.. met up with yihan for lunch with ian and aud at Da Paola's. the food was so good! and rather cheap as well since it was a set lunch.. haha. i can imagine the outdoor dining at night would look so nice if it weren't raining. haha. this was ian's starter baby spinach with panma ham.

my soup was great.. scallop in errmmm, some bisque, which i have forgotten :p

oh and my entree was just so good. prawn spaghetti in its own bisque qith some baby spinach. the prawns were juicy and succulent, and the spaghetti done just right. the bisque was rich and fragrant. yes!

this was the standard dessert.. an eclair.. not tt unique, but tasty nonetheless :)

after all tt food, we went down to orchard to just look around, but there were no movies to watch. so i ended up shopping for presents instead. in the end, in liew of the good weather, me and yihan decided to head back for some tennis. only to have it POUR after hitting just one ball.

sat! had a cofm meeting at 830 in the morning. hmmm, but after which was somemore present shopping and in the evening was a meeting with nick! haven't seen him in ages. haha, and of course, yihan, weili and chihou were there along as well. had our dinner at lemon grass, where we discovered tt the freaking cab fare has risen all so much! poor chi had to pay $9 freaking dollars of surcharge! the fare itself was only $9, but the surcharge owns.

well, after dinner, we headed down the cheesecake cafe. desserts are still as good as ever! :D

and this is the peanut butter cheese cake, and the other some hazelnut one.there was a rum and raisin one, but we all too busy eating by tt time. haha.
the center piece is really nice! too bad my handphone doesn't do it justice.

ok, sunday was a long day. tennis in the morning/afternoon and then kat treated us to dinner cuz it was his bday. i missed out on bowling in the afternoon cuz well, i didn't feel like bowling. haha

dinner was at crystal jade.. and yes, i love the prawns once again. after dinner, we headed over to secret recipe for dessert cuz max brener's was just too far. haha. dun be alarmed by this face, according to ra, its just an al-face. a constipated look.. i dunno. hmmm. but really, they were so mean to him during dinner. HAHA. al, this is for u .. have fun~~ ;)


and then we went for ktv, again...! dunno what the hell was doing, but yeah, we were just waiting for our room to be ready.. haha

monday! xmas eve.. went to watch I am Legend with yuan and yihan. eh, it was not bad, but the book's story sounds even better! maybe i shall read it when i do have the time one day. haha. and after some dinner and buying myself a xmas gift, we decided to go over to sentosa for a while since we were semi-bored.

oh yes, this was the xma tree on top of vivo.. really huge and bright. but somehow yuan hong was outta his mind and couldn't see it. he thot i was taking a pix of the moon, until he realized what was huge and conical in front of him.

oh dear, i just realized tt the other pix tt i took tt day are gone! silly phone ran out of batt.. oh whatever. but yuan has been diagnosed with schizophrenia. me and yihan concluded he had both the positive and the negative symptoms. he actually thot michael jackson was directing the hobbit!! :o

and then we drove down orchard road near midnite, watching from a safe distance as pple counted down to 0, and took out their spray cans and started aerosolling snow at each other. haha!


tuesday!! met in the afternoon to catch My Blueberry Nights. Excellent movie. watch it if u can! norah jones, jude law, rachael weisz and nathalie portman were all fantastic. really wow, such convincing acting.. although i still maintain tt i hate the fuzziness. norah jone's music makes for an excellent background for some of the scenes in the movie.. :) after the movie, we had dinner at this jap place... the tables are so strangely designed. the person inside is basically trapped, and the waitresses are just unable to reach so far in. it was quite annoying!

but the food was not bad.. :) and rather cheap as well haha

oh, the ice cream was so nice.. :D

we spend quite a while in the arcade until i finally met my match in VT3. well, not really cuz i wasn't quite using the person i would normally use, but whatever!

and then, in the car, yuan was being the paparazzi, trying to distress cm! taking multiple shots up real close. we concluded he was mad. and actually, he himself said he felt like paparazzi! well i guess its possible since he is a couple! ;)


ok, there are really many more funny quotes with these bunch of pple, which somehow, yihan decided to try to copy down, but i really doubt he managed much. haha, but it was nice seeing them all again :)

still have whit's xmas party photos, but they're not w me.. so.. another time! :p
